Broccoli and chicken

It is getting warmer in the daytime. Planting potatoes with grass mulching is keeping me busy. I have already planted dozens of potatoes. Still trying to grow seedlings from sweet potatoes in water/soil indoor. They have started radicating in watered pots, actually, plastic bottles and in a styrofoam box filled with soil/compost. Seedlings may grow in a few weeks and will be planted in the end of next month when it is forecasted we have least possibility of frost on the ground. Other summer vegetables will follow soon. A tiny seedling looks like a baby to me.

Broccoli have grown and the crops of flower buds are harvested now. Without using pesticides, it was a bit troublesome to have them grow. It is only a moment we could enjoy them. As with the other vegetables, if a lot of them are planted, they grow at the same time. It is hard for us to consume them at a time. Anyway, freshly harvested broccoli were cooked with chicken seasoned with oyster sauce etc. Chinese taste.

I am still feeling sad to hear what is going on in Ukraine. Whatever reason Putin may insist of as the reason of their invasion, it is only murder and destruction. What absurdity! The Western countries should have taken an attitude critical to Putin regime at least when they occupied Crimea. The Western countries, including Japan, have been dazzled by the enormous profit from the import of gas/oil from Russia. It has made his power approved by the people, if not all.

The more serious issue is that the populism and anti intellectualism among people for such a dictator enabled him gain the power. If Putin goes away, another Putin may appear in this world. The populism and anti intellectualism should be overcome.
