Fried tomatoes

Yesterday, it lit in my mind when I found unripe green tomatoes on tomatoe plants in the garden farm. I should try fried tomatoes as a few friends in the US have suggested. At first, honestly speaking, I was rather skeptical about that idea. But there are only few chances I could try that menue. I gotta try!

As a result, it tasted freshly rich, sweet and slightly sauer. This is it with a few fried sweet potatoes. My wife could not guess what it was. She was surprised to know of that and liked it very much. We knew why some friends of mine had recommended this menue now.

I have prepared fried saury as well. This was also very good.

Am I talented in cooking? Should I have lived as a chef leaving a paddle and a stethoscope? No, it's not my talent but is thanks to my friends' advice!

Actually, I should go for the parttime job not as a chef today.

  1. Well....we all gotta eat! So you might as well make the food that is best for you and that you like. This is one area of health maintenance that you can control. However, I wonder about the frying part of the preparation. Would baked green tomatoes be more healthful? What is saury? It looks like some kind of fish. My favorite fish is salmon and I like to marinate it is special spices or coat the salmon with barbeque sauce.

    1. Baked green tomatoe may be calory less than fried one. Getting materials fried will draw their good taste as you know. We might take them if once in a few weeks.

Saury is the Pacific saury. We always bake it and season with soy sauce. It is the season for saury here.

Salmon is good as well. I can't forget grilled big salmon served at a restaurant in Seattle last summer. The basic taste may go well with various seasonings.

  2. Wendy will be overwhelmed with pride that she has made a contribution to the cuisine of Japan. Of course, that would never have occurred had there not been an adventurous Chef hiding behind the camouflage of a retired pediatrician. You should start a TV program, "Magic Chef of Mohka."

    1. Ha ha. I have just fried them! Very simple. I have never imagined such a way of cooking green tomatoes. Thanks for encouraging me to cook that way. Compliment to the artist in cooking as well as in photography!

    1. Wayne,

Thanks for the advice. If I am allowed to excuse my wife, she is doing most of the other chores. All I should spend is an hour to cook dinner early in evening. You must have become a skillfup chef by now. I hope cooking won't cuts into your precious time for radio so much!

    1. Terry,

Thanks again for the advice. Last night, expecting our daughter to be home during this week end, I have fried so many materials including some green tomatoes. But she has not come home to my sorrow. Many dishes full of fries are in the refrigerator now. I have fried okra as well.

The munue of fries will go on in our family for a while.

Anyway, we have enjoyed fried green tomatoes.
