Declining birthrate and regression of our society...while congratulating the forty niners

I was born in 1949. The number of births in that year was 2.69million, the peak in this statistics of number of births. The forty niners have struggled through as a baby boomer generation. A lot of ordeals, even more than the other generations have experienced in such as school entrance exams or job selection etc. In other words, we, the forty ningers, have lived most vivid era after the war.

The number of births per a year has put the 2nd peak as 2.11 million in 1973, then followed by gradual decrease.

In 2010, it went down to than 1.0 million. For the past several years, the decline has become rapid. In 2022, down to 0.8 million. Last year, it was less than 0.7 million at last.

The Children and Families Agency, an administration office responsible for the policy to deal with declining birthrate being presently aggravated rapidly, got 6.4trillion JPY as the annual budget. And what they are doing is to subsidiarize it to related corporations or legal bodies. The retired high ranking beaurocrats, who were from the administration offices through the revolving door, are taking seats at them.

And what I would like to say regarding this fact.

Firstly, we, the forty niners, have lived well through the struggle of life. Midst the baby boomers, we have managed to survive. Congratulations to the colleagues of the same generation all around! Pediatricians have particularly spent hard time!

Secondly, and as a more important point, the system retired beaurocrats would get positions at related business or legal bodies has been a customary practice for decades. It has brought conflict of interest and corruption in politisc/administration in our country. The tax expenditure is not transparent in this country as this site says;

This corruption has been accepted as a routine or not questioned even by the people. This customary malpractice contradicts efficient administration and has lead our country into degeneration.
